Management of Carroll County Electric Department Department
To all Residential, General Power, and Outdoor Lighting Customers of the Carroll County Electric Department, there will be a 1.5% rate increase effective October 1st, 2017, enacted by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). TVA's Board of Directors approved a 1.5% effective retail rate increase, slightly below the rate of inflation, amounting to about $1.50 more for the average Valley resident using 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per month. The increase will take effect with TVA's 2018 budget year that begins Oct. 1, 2017. Carroll County Electric Board of Directors approved a revenue neutral local rate adjustment for the Residential class of Customers effective October 1st, 2017. The average residential customer will see no impact as a result of the adjustment. To achieve a revenue neutral rate adjustment, the Residential customer charge will be increasing $2.00 and the Residential kWh rate will be decreasing by $0.00164 per kWh consumed. Should you need further information on the changes, you may contact the Carroll County Electric Department during regular business hours, 8AM - 5PM, Monday thru Friday at 731-986-8284.
